    Is the AFTA(ASEAN Free Trade Area) pursuing the economic purpose ?

    Answer
    Yes, the main object of the AFTA is economic. Especially, member-states agreed reduction of mutual tariffs among member-states to less than 5% in 15 product sectors till 2010. They wish to promote division of labor with in the AFTA, strenghening of international competitiveness and adaption to the grobal market economy.
