Type 38 is a standard field gun in IJA. At first, Type 38 was ordered to Krupp in Germany during the Russo-Japanese War. In order to extend the shooting range, the carriage of Type 38 was modified and the elevation was increased. It was called as "Type 38 Improved".
Though Type 90 and Type 95 were developed after Type 38, Type 38 had been used until the end of WWII.
