Before WWII, several companies produced motor tricycles and they were widely used in Japan. IJA and IJN also used them, but they were unofficial use. In 1941, IJA and IJN adopted Kurogane motor tricycle as Type 1 Motor Tricycle and used it in the Pacific War.
