The Ho-K was developed for cutting the taiga in Siberia. It makes a path in the jungle by felling trees by its nose. Ho-K was deployed at the 12th Independent Engineer Regiment in Manchuria and prepared for the invasion against the Soviet Union. In the end of 1942, the regiment was sent to New Guinea and engaged in the airfield construction there.
